Career Pathway - Team Leader

Developing Your Career as a - Team Leader

As a team leader you will take on more responsibility which may include supervising residential support workers, and mentoring new staff—an integral part of your role as we need to continue to develop people into your role as you climb the ladder.

All the time you are developing in your role, you will continue to work alongside the young people building memories and assisting them to grow and develop their own personalities with the help of you, the rest of the team and the input from the company thearapist.

As a team leader you will be providing guidance to the residential support workers to ensure the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting the teaching and learning, social and independence activities and experiences, which enhance the learning and development of our young people.

You will act as a positive role model, provide effective supervision and guidance for your own team, contributing to their performance and professional development. Once you are confident and competent it will be time for another adventure

Mabel very quickly came to love her job, and as part of her induction she completed all the necessary mandatory training.

She had regular supervision and mentoring sessions which provided her with clear guidance, support, and development of knowledge. This aided her to progress very quickly. After just three months she was registered onto the Diploma level 4 in children and young people in residential care

Dave was very nervous about his new role and developing his skills in using an electronic system for recording.

He required a lot of support in confidence building, understanding challenging behaviour, and in completing his induction process.

His line manager and mentor ensured he received all the help and guidance needed
